Hui Zhu



This isometric view shows a cube room with two open windows, two doors and an interior space. The interior is a flat-topped prism that punches through the top and bottom of the cube. On the right is a horizontal rectangle window, and on the left is a window punched through by a quarter sphere. Below are two doors, opened by the same diagonal rectangle. The windows on both sides and the door in the middle are closely linked to the interior space. The windows on the left and right sides and a square gap opened by an internal flat-topped prism allow the entire cube to have more space for interaction between the inside and outside.




This series of elevation sketches show the relationship between the different interior positional spaces and the outer cube. Quarter spheres have different positions and sizes. The rectangular windows have horizontally and vertically position and also have different lengths. The doors are in different positions on the left and right. The flat-topped prisms in the center are rotated to reflect the different positions. All of these variations make up the different spaces. Under continuous testing, the final form is shown at the bottom right.




This elevation view shows the room with a rectangular door and a quarter sphere window. The dashed lines show the interior space, a rectangular window and another door behind.




This series of section sketches show different states of interior space by changing the size and position of windows and doors. The rectangular window has both horizontal and vertical positions on the right side, with the length reduced in the bottom left figure under the horizontal position. The door, on the other hand, has two positions, left and right. The quarter sphere increases the radius in the bottom left figure after changing the left and right positions. After continuously adjusting their respective positions and sizes, the final section is shown in the bottom right.




This section is cut from the bottom intersection where the flat-topped prism and the square intersect. This position can better show the spatial relationship between the interior flat-topped prism and other doors and windows.
