For project 2, we were asked to rezone a group of single-family plots for a collective living community.
Each group member was given adjacent plots of land that were divided between private and communal spaces. We divided up shared programming which we later expanded upon individually.

Our collective dwelling design includes a plinth that separates shared programming (on the first level) from the residential (on the second level). The plinth serves as a shared public space that can be used by the residents and public. Some of the programming that we decided to include were street vendors, public park, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, educational spaces and a daycare.
This parti shows how we divided up or collective dwelling space by sectioning off different types of programming. The hatched center indicates a shared space for the residents and public.
