This is the parti for my design. I started with two rectangles and arranged them within a square. I used the boolean operation to remove the space where the rectangles overlapped each other. I then copied the original two rectangles and arranged them in a new configuration within the same square. I again used the boolean operation to remove the space where these new rectangles overlapped each other. I then extruded each of the four rectangles to different heights to form a three dimensional form. Within this parti, the areas in red represent the boolean operations. The thickness of the lines represent the proximity of that area to an imagined viewer. The direction of the lines represent whether that area is seen in elevation (vertical lines) or in plan (horizontal lines).

This image imagines the form within a more literal landscape. Light, texture, and materiality are the main elements being used to ground the form within the landscape.

This image places the form within an abstracted space. Light, color, texture, and other abstract forms are utilized to ground and accentuate the form.

This image seeks to represent the form simply and clearly. The visual texture of the ground plane provides a contrast for the form. The lighting, located centrally and below the form, accentuates the space created by the boolean operations. The contrasting levels of light and shadow, without the use of color, highlight the three dimensionality and configuration of the form without distraction.
