The partial architectural plan shows a kitchen and living space inside of an eight story apartment with seven unseen bedrooms. Elements inside the space are a combination of moveable and stationary parts of the interior. The space is furnished with vinyl wood flooring, granite countertops, and dark cherry solid wood cabinets. There is a large bar top peninsula separating the distinct areas but maintaining communication. Some features present in the space are two refrigerators and sinks, multiple appliances, and a playful pup.

The elevation view above shows the north side of the suite and captures the multiple amenities present in the space. Plants are spread around the interior and a coffee station stands out as an important feature of the kitchen. On the west side of the elevation view sits a nailhead chair and just above it an 85” flatscreen TV for entertainment. Underneath the TV is a 1 year old black labrador, Miele, who for most part of the day prefers to lounge on the available chair. Looking towards the center of the drawing, a pendant light hangs above the multipurpose counter top. Appliances take up the right side of the kitchen for everyday nutrition needs.

The organizational diagram of this space represents both the functional zoning of the kitchen and living spaces designated in different shades of green. The paths of circulation show multiple ways someone may move about the space and the pink blocks display stationary zoning where people may rest. Lastly, artificial lighting conditions can be seen all around the space as highlighted yellow circles.
The Actor-Network map dives into the structural affordances of a multistory building and provides the components, engineering and materials that went into building the Munger Graduate Residence, where the plan above is located. Going further into the map is a look at the relationship between frameworks and materials. Different methods of joinery are used in different materials due to code requirements and weight bearing capabilities of the materials. Partnerships between materials are made to create greater possibilities for building such as concrete and wood or concrete and steel. The Actor-Network map also branches out to explore the transportation and application methods of these structural capacities that each situation may have. All around, there are many components involved, and the ANT map only begins to cover everything there is to know about the structural affordances of a multistory building.

This is a figure ground drawing of downtown San Diego along the coast. The contrast between black and white shows the relationship between architecture and the land surrounding it. Water is portrayed in light and dark tones of grey to highlight the distinction between land and sea. Both images point out the Marriot Marquis that sits between land and sea and showcases it’s unique architectural form.

This aerial view shows the Marriot Marquis located at the end of front street almost touching the water on the southwest side of Harbor Dr. The San Diego Convention Center touches the Marquis hotel on the right hand side as if to look like a single megastructure. The aerial view emphasizes the green environment that the hotel landscaper has designed, to seamlessly transition from the natural to the built environment.

The oblique drawing displays first the San Diego marina stretching along the edges of the city with a wide court, opening from the water to the backside of the Marriot Marquis. The hotel blends into the outside environment leaving suggestions of wide circulation and creating a conversation between public and private space. Towards the top of the drawing are a series of roads, paths and railroads that travel vertical along with the coast. The rounded hotel sits in the center of movement as if to draw the outside crowd in and create a new movement within.
The Actor-Network depicts branching information of the Marriot Marquis hotel located in San Diego, CA. First the map dives into the history of the San Diego port that the Marriot is sitting near. The port has been used in many timelines for the importing of goods, as a naval base for the US army, and for several cruise ships to doc. Tracing the arrows further down the map, there are many things to do surrounding the hotel. Seaport village along with the other means of entertainment give the idea that the location is constantly occupied and being used by people from all over. Looking closer into the hotel itself, there are many beneficial features of the space. It is considered a sustainable project due to methods of energy saving and a LEED silver certification. The building is large and can accomodate a wide range of events from weddings to banquets to shows. The interior architecture of the space compliments the building well and accentuates the fresh outside environment with wood detailings and large glass panes. The Marriot Marquis came to be through a long history of development and change. The demand for hotels boomed after world war 2 when people starting coming in via both ship and plane.
