Moving forward from the prospect of a film commune in Project 2, my design focused on the set portion of the community. This set area is nestled in between the residential, public, and production wings of the structure and has a multitude of oppurtunities for professional growth and public engagement.

The exterior of the structure pays homage to the Crystal Palace in its skeletal steel frame with mullions wrapping the exterior and a semi-sheer glass facade. This set area services the professionals and the community through its ability to be a filming area for residents as well as a augmented reality musuem experience for the public.

The interior of the structure has many different componding elements that are put to face eachother in an architectural meaning. The professionals have their own portions of the set area which allows for regular filming and project development. These areas are not accessible by the public though they have access to see what is being done through various windows into the sets. Then, there is a more traditional physical set in which the public can interact with, akin to a experiential musuem. Here, the public can feel what it is like to be inside of a set as well as put themselves into the shoes of the professionals.

Aside from false fronts and physical sets, there are green screen portions of the set area where profssionals use technology to film their projects. These areas can be seen with a greenscreen backdrop with physical sets inf ront. This is also seen with a complete green screen false front to be used for projection mapping. This design draws inspiration from the sets of the Mandalorian as well as Universal Studios.

Then, there is a third condition in which the public can interact with the sets through an augmented reality experience on their phone. This AR allows for the public to use the green screen facilities accessible to them and project their own background through the lens of a cameera. This even further allows for the public to integrate themselves with the professional lifestyle at the film commune and see what it is like to work in the field. We can see what this condition would possibly exist like with the Photoshop renderings onto the green screen backdrop, where professionals film in different settings and the public use their phones to take photos of one another and experience the area.
