The elevation and section above illustrate Martin’s Happy Place. Placed among texas desert vegitation is a minimalistic space for reading, yoga, fencing target practice and a steam shower. The interior spaces are defined for each activity, allowing for seperation. The reading space is above the built in bookshelf and the table provides a space to fix fencing equipment. Martin prefers soft, indirect lighting. The windows are placed in narrow panels to invite light in and flood the open space from above.

The form of Martins happy place was not altered from project 0 to fit the new program. The elevations and sections illustrate the cuts and extrusions created witht the booliean formal launguage.

The plan demonstrates the change in topography surrounding the form, and the desert vegitation creating a remote and peacefull space. The interior space is broken into two rooms. The entrance room is used for many different activities each in thier own space. A rectangle cuts into the circle on one side, creating a seperate space used for the steam shower. There are large windows incasing the corner allowing the user stunning views of the landscape.

The layout of the board is designed to flow with the connecting topography lines, allowing each orthograohic drawing and sketch to blend together. The rooftop plan illustrates a large central skylight
and a rectangular skylight
illuminating the space from above, in the steamshower. The exterior view shows the window placement and elevation changes of the form. Commic strips show how Martin would use his Happy Place. The large corner window faces out to the landscape. The windows in the main space are placed higher in the walls to produce more indirect lighting.
